Discover the City with a Berlin Bike Tour

Put pedal to the metal on a Fat Tire Bike Tour, where you’ll be able to see the sights of the capital while cruising around on a bicycle. From a standard sightseeing hit list to more sombre historical tours, there’s a number of different options to cater to every traveller.

Price

The Fat Tire Bike tour is available for both adults and children, with tickets priced at €24 and €14 respectively. If you happen to have a Berlin Pass however, cyclists can join the tour for free! Booking a place in advance is highly recommended (especially if you have a big group), however there are usually slots available if you decided to rock up on the day. A bicycle, optional helmet and a city tour guide are all included in the price.

Duration

There are a number of bike tours available ranging from 4.5 – 6 hours, including a short lunch break in a lovely German beer garden. You won’t be cycling the whole time, tours will stop at key tourist destinations to help riders catch their breath and take photographs as guides describe the history of Berlin’s landmarks.

Day City Tour

As one of Fat Bike Tour’s most popular options, the Day City Tour takes visitors on a whistle stop tour of some of the capital’s most important attractions including The Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, Museum Island, the Reichstag, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Berlin Wall and more. Perfect for casual cycling enthusiasts and Berlin newbies, the tour commentary covers Berlin’s history from founding to the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Berlin Bike Tour

Third Reich and Nazi Germany Tour

This cycle tour traces Germany’s dark past and takes visitors to surviving World War Two sites, as well the memorials built to honour those lost in the war. Detailing the circumstances of Hitler’s rise to power and the scars that the Third Reich have left on the capital, the cycle route passes through sombre sites like the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Bebelplatz (where Nazi books were burned) and the ruins of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. It also incorporates standard tourist sites such as the Reichstag.

Berlin Wall and Cold War Tour

Learn about the struggles of Germany’s recent past on Fat Tire’s Berlin Wall and Cold War Cycle Tour. Taking riders along and across the boundaries of the East-West Berlin division, cyclists will learn about the capital’s fraught separation as well as hear of residents’ legendary escape attempts across the Berlin Wall. On this tour, you’ll ride past the Treptow Soviet Memorial, Berlin Wall watchtower, Karl-Marx-Allee and the vibrant East Side Gallery.
